  1. Absolutely right, Martin. Burying a bad news release on Friday doesn’t work. In fact, in this age of 24/7 news coverage in traditional and non-traditional media, it’s almost impossible to “fly below the radar,” as some of my clients want to do.

    The one exception — and of course this can’t be planned — is sending out bad news concurrent with some overwhelming bad and attention getting event, i.e., terrorist attack, early stages of the oil spill, early days of Tiger Woods news. You might not get as much notice then.
